Wow! Is it already Wednesday? I have been so off kilter this week. Jake and I spent the long weekend at the Lake and I feel like I have been moving a mile a minute since we got back. This week is the last week of school and my to do list was piled high!
The lake is a nice distraction from my to do list. Initially, Jake and I were not planning to go to the lake as this week was my 10-year high school reunion, but Jake’s family purchased a new boat and Jake was itching to A) see it and B) learn to drive it. Sorry class of 2001 but opportunity was knocking!

This picture does not do this boat justice – it is so luxurious, a gem! And it moves – it moves over 600 horse power fast! I was reaching for the oh **** handle fairly often (it really does have these handles). It's also such a smooth ride that you barely feel the wake from boats we were passing!
We had a full house at the lake! Jake’s brother and sister-in-law joined us with their two kids as well as his sister and some of her friends! It was shear fun and entertainment all weekend long! Here is a quick recap:
We arrived at the lake house and settled in!
Front of the house |
The best view..facing the lake! |
We boated to Big Dick’s and listened to some live music!
Jake enjoying some 60's grove! |
I drove the boat…
This is the boat I drove! |
while Jake skied!
We took an afternoon ride to Captain Ron's and enjoyed some delicious appetizers!
Onion Rings! |
We returned to the house as the sunset...
and we had bonfire. Our nephew roasted us marshmallows!
Jake got a lesson on how to drive the boat!
Twin Engines..seems complicated! |
We celebrated Memorial Day with an All- American meal of brats, onion strings, and fried pickles!
Then we packed up our car and our pouty faces set in as we drove away from the lake.
And now we are trying to get back into the swing of things! Since we were at the lake over the weekend, our cupboards are bare! Tonight for dinner I rallied whatever ingredients I could find and I made an easy cheesy chicken, Parmesan, artichoke, and tomato pasta!
