A few evenings ago as I was winding down from a long day, reading a magazine while Jake was flipping through the channels. Suddenly he stopped and announced, "Hey, this look like your kind of show." I looked up from my magazine to see the title "Extreme Couponing" on the screen. Both of us were intrigued. We tuned in for about ten minutes and quickly discovered that although I like to clip coupons and love to save a buck or two on my grocery bill, I would never qualify for the title extreme couponer! I mean really, a 10-pound binder full of coupons and buying 97 bags of croutons because they are on sale and you have a coupon is, in my opinion, beyond extreme.
I will admit that it was neat to see how one woman bought $1000 worth of groceries and after her coupons were applied she only spent $8.00 on her grocery bill. That is talent, but who has time to organize this and space for all these groceries! I admit I did learn a thing or two and I am really excited because when I opened the newspaper on Sunday I found this beauty:
Yes! Double the value of the manufacture's coupon! I spent last night carefully organizing my coupons so I could make some purchases after work! I love Greek Yogurt so this was a huge saver!
I whipped up a quick and easy pasta dinner tonight! We were supposed to have Chicken Bruschetta Pasta but I didn’t have chicken in the house so I made Italian Meatballs out of deer sausage. Here is the recipe:
Bruschetta Pasta with Sausage
Ingredients
Penne Pasta
1 Jar Bruschetta Pasta Sauce (I used Trader Joe's)
Meat of Choice (Chicken or Meatballs are great in this)
Fresh Ramono Cheese
Preparation
1. Prepare pasta according to package directions
2. Cook meat in skillet and remove. (I season my meat with onion powder, garlic, and basil)
3. In skillet pour in jar of Bruschetta sauce to warm.
4. Add meat to skillet.
5. Place pasta on plate and top with sauce.
6. Top with slices of fresh ramono cheese
6. Enjoy with a slice of crusty garlic bread.
